The Canadian Basketball Foundation (CBF) is a registered charitable organization dedicated to growing all aspects of the game of basketball. CBF is committed to promoting and developing the game of basketball for all Canadians, from the grassroots to national team level.

Invented by Canadian, Dr. James Naismith, basketball is one of the fastest growing and most widely played sports in our country. With limited barriers to participation, basketball offers ALL Canadians a chance to play, learn and grow.

The CBF works directly with Canada Basketball to improve the health of the nation through basketball, provide a pathway for excellence for young athletes, and deliver a dynamic basketball development infrastructure that will result in international success.

The CBF is committed to three pillars of success:

1. Improving the �HEALTH OF THE BASKETBALL NATION� by providing access and opportunity for all participants to play, learn and grow. This is particularly timely as Canada deals with the growing concern of childhood obesity. The solution starts in the community with programs that build a passion for basketball while improving the quality of life for all participants.

2. Providing a "PATHWAY OF EXCELLENCE" for athletes to compete for Canada. Ensuring that talented young athletes have a means to develop skills, through an organized infrastructure of elite programming that supports various stages of development. Success is based on support from stakeholders in the basketball community like coaches, club teams, provincial sport organizations, and generous donors of CBF.

3. �DEVELOPING BASKETBALL� and all aspects of the game for coaches, athletes, officials and administrators through a shared commitment to continuous improvement.

Caring Canadians can now give back to the sport they love by investing in the CBF, knowing that funds will directly impact young athletes who aspire to realize their dreams of one day representing Canada on the world stage.

In addition, donations will help shape the future of the game, by providing economic sustainability to improve the quality of our sport for the next generation of Canada�s youth.

The CBF is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency as a public foundation.
