ENGLISH GETS INVITATION TO PLAY FOR RAPTORS IN NBA SUMMER LEAGUE: REPORT

HONOLULU, Hawaii - A newspaper in Hawaii reports that Carl English, a member of last year's Canadian Senior Men's National Team, has been invited to play in an NBA summer league with the Toronto Raptors.
The Honolulu Advertiser quotes English, who played for the University of Hawaii, as saying he's not sure whether he'll accept the invitation because he's close to signing a new contract with Kalise Gran Canaria in Spain's top pro league, the ACB.
The paper said in a report published Sunday on its website that English did not want to comment on the details of the contract, but it was rumoured to be worth more than $4 million over four years.
English, a 6-5 guard from Patrick's Cove, N.L., averaged a team-high 15.7 points for Gran Canaria last season -- eighth best in the ACB -- despite being injured late in the season.
