Last Updated: November 10, 2009

ESSEN, Germany - ETB Wohnbau Baskets (0-7) came within a hair of winning their first game of the season in the second-tier Pro A league, falling 88-87 at home on Saturday to VFL Kirchheim Knights (5-2).

The loss came despite 30 points from Canadian Senior Men's National Team member Tyler Kepkay (Vancouver), who was 10-of-21 from the field and 8-of-8 from the line. He also had four assists in playing all 40 minutes.

Kepkay didn't join Wohnbau until its fifth game of the season and scored 27 and 25 points in his first two games.

Keonta Howell added 19 points for Wohnbau on Saturday while Scott Freymond had 24 for Kirchheim.
