ENGLISH, SPLITTER LEAD CAJA LABORAL INTO 2ND PLACE IN ACB

VITORIA, Spain - Carl English scored 19 points and Tiago Splitter had 18 as Caja Laboral Vitoria downed Unicaja Malaga 86-71 on Sunday.

The win moved Caja Laboral (14-3) into sole possession of second place in the ACB behind Regal Barcelona (16-1).

English, of the Canadian Senior Men's National Team, was 7-of-11 from the field (3-of-4 threes) and 2-for-2 at the line in 29 minutes.

Georgios Printezis and Joel Freeland were tops for Unicaja (7-10) with 13 points each.

Caja Laboral broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Unicaja 23-12, and led by 18 points with 10 minutes left to play. Unicaja would get no closer than nine points in the final quarter.
