Bryan Crawford joins Canada Basketball from Ontario University Athletics having previously held the title of Director of Operations where he led all OUA operational activities, working with stakeholders in 23 sports.

As a valued leader of university sport in Canada, Crawford was responsible for successfully guiding the development of a progressive five year strategic plan, negotiating numerous partnerships, while increasing the overall profile of OUA through innovative marketing and promotional campaigns and initiatives. Crawford also led the launch of a new website and league wide webcasting platform, successfully established broadcast partnerships, and delivered high quality, revenue generating championship events in numerous sports. Crawford joined the OUA office in 2008 and has also held the roles of Sport Programming Manager and Interim Executive Director.

In addition to his extensive experience in operational planning and capacity building with OUA, in 2011 Crawford retired from a seven-year playing career in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts. During his time with the Argos, he served as both a team Captain and Player Representative on the CFL Players' Association, where he was involved in the business of the Association ranging from collective bargaining to concussion awareness. Prior to being drafted by the Argonauts in 2005, Crawford attended Queen's University where he was a two sport student-athlete in football and track & field. He graduated with an honours degree in Political Studies and Development where he specialized in policy and governance.

Crawford has also been extensively involved in community efforts through his role as a founding member of the Hamilton based Climb for Cancer, as a spokesperson for the ALS Society of Ontario, as an Athlete Ambassador for Right to Play and with the Toronto Argonauts Huddle Up Against Bullying Program. His efforts were recognized in 2011 as the Toronto Argonauts recipient of the CFL's Tom Pate Award, which highlighted his contribution to his team, community, and his Association.
