March 5 2012 - NSAC will host the top men's collegiate basketball teams at the 2012 CCAA Men's National Basketball National Championship March 15-17.  

The NSAC Rams withdrew from their entitled host berth to allow both the champion and runner-up from the ACAA member conference to compete in the national championship tournament. The nation's top eight men's basketball teams have been seeded in the following order: 

1. UNBC Timberwolves (PACWEST champion/ Prince George, B.C.) 
2. Mount Royal Cougars (ACAC champion/ Calgary, Alta)
3. Indiens d'Ahuntsic (RSEQ champion/ Montreal, Que)
4. Mohawk Mountaineers (OCAA champion/ Hamilton, Ont)
5. Vanier Cheetahs (RSEQ silver/ Montreal, Que)
6. St Thomas Tommies (ACAA champion/ Frederictor, N.B.)
7. MSVU Mystics (ACAA silver/ Halifax, N.S.)
8. Red Deer Kings (ACAC silver/ Red Deer, Alta) 

The CCAA Championship Awards Banquet will precede the competition, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14. The competition begins Thursday, March 15 and runs through Saturday, March 17.

Thursday March 15
Game #1              1pm – Red Deer Kings vs UNBC Timberwolves
Game # 2             3pm – Vanier Cheetahs vs Mohawk Mountaineers
Game # 3             6pm – MSVU Mystics  vs Mount Royal Cougars 
Game # 4             8pm – St Thomas Tommies vs Indiens d'Ahuntsic 

Friday March 16
Game # 5             1pm – Losers of game 1 & 2
Game # 6             3pm – Losers of game 3 & 4
Game # 7             6pm – Winners of game 1 & 2 (semi-final)
Game # 8             8pm – Winners of game 3 & 4 (semi-final) 

Saturday March 17
Game # 9           10am – Losers of game 7 & Winners of game 6
Game # 10          12pm – Losers of game 8 vs. Winners of game 5
Game # 11          2pm – Losers of game 5 & 6 (7th/8th place)
Game # 12          6pm – Winners of game 9 & 10 (Bronze Medal)
Game # 13          8pm – Winners of game 7 & 8 (Gold Medal) 

The closing ceremony and awards presentation will take place immediately following the final match.
