Ejim, Plouffe named Toyota Canada Players of the Week

TORONTO, Ont. (Sept. 18, 2023) - Melvin Ejim and Michelle Plouffe have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for Sept. 11-17.

After more than a month spent with the Senior Men’s National Team, Ejim made his way to Spain where he joined Baloncesto Málaga of the Liga ACB. In ACB SuperCup action, Ejim totalled 13 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in two games, despite his squad narrowly falling to Real Madrid in the Final. The Toronto product, a Senior Men’s National Team veteran, suited up for Canada at the FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup 2023 where Canada claimed bronze.


Plouffe was named the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Ulaanbaatar Final MVP Michelle Plouffe after finishing as the Stop’s top scorer with 30 points, while also finishing with the Top Player Value (35.4). She was also second in rebounds with 21. Plouffe helped Canada to their second-straight Women’s Series Final win, after emerging with a narrow 16-15 win over France. The Edmonton, Alta. product wrapped up the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series as the number-one ranked player in the world, followed by sister Katherine who ranks number-two.
