TORONTO, Ont. (Feb. 6, 2024) - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Aaliyah Edwards have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for Feb. 5-9.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is having a strong season in his young NBA career. The OKC Thunder remain on top of the Western Conference, many thanks to another massive week from SGA. The recently named NBA All-Star Starter for the Western Conference, Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 31 points, seven boards, and nine assists over this past week to lead the Thunder to a 3-1 record.

It’s been a solid college season for senior Aaliyah Edwards, who is averaging a career-high 17.7 points per game with the UConn Huskies. Edwards scored a career-high 33 points on Sunday’s win against St John’s to go with her 13 rebounds and four steals in a dominant double-double performance. The Kingston, ON product averaged 27.5 points per game over the last week, leading UConn to a 2-0 week.
