U Sports Final 8 Championship Set as Carleton and Dalhousie Square Off in Ottawa

Men’s Semifinal 1: Carleton Bests Western in All-OUA Semi

OTTAWA (U SPORTS) – Isiah Osborne, Lloyd Pandi and Yasiin Joseph all scored in double figures during the Carleton Ravens decisive 90-63 victory over the Western Mustangs on Saturday in their men’s semifinal game at the 2020 U SPORTS Final 8 Basketball Championships at The Arena at TD Place.

Alain Louis added 15 points, four rebounds & two assists for the Ravens, while Eriq Jenkins had 13 points, five rebounds & two assists in a losing cause for the Mustangs.

Carleton shot 43.2 per cent from the field and 33.3 per cent from three, compared to the Western’s 33.9 per cent shooting and 12.9 percent from beyond the arc.

With the win, Carleton advances to play the winner of UBC and Dalhousie on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT in the men’s championship final, while Western takes on the losing team in the men’s bronze medal game at 2 p.m. / 11 a.m. PT

Men’s Semifinal 2: Dalhousie defeats UBC to advance to final

OTTAWA (U SPORTS) – Alex Carson, Sascha Kappos, and Jordan Brathwaite all scored in double figures during the Dalhousie Tigers’ decisive 84-55 victory over the UBC Thunderbirds on Saturday in their men’s Semifinal game at the 2020 U SPORTS Final 8 Basketball Championships at The Arena at TD Place.

Keevan Veinot added eight points, four rebounds and four assists for the Tigers, while Jadon Cohee had 19 points and three assists in a losing cause for UBC.

Dalhousie shot 42.4 per cent from the field and 39.1 per cent from three, compared to the Thunderbirds’ 27.4 per cent shooting and 21.4 percent from beyond the arc.

With the win, Dalhousie advances to play Carleton on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT in the men’s gold medal game, while UBC takes on Western in the men’s bronze medal Game at 2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT on Sunday at the Ravens Nest.
