Assessing The Impact Of Covid-19 On Basketball In Canada

/

Jun 19, 2020

TORONTO, Ont. (June 19, 2020) – Canada Basketball has partnered with the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University to better understand how athletes have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Athletes between 11-24, parents and coaches can share their thoughts and feelings about not being able to play basketball during this pandemic through an anonymous survey.

Take the survey here: https://www.eliteneurokinetix.com/general-impact-of-covid-19

The survey will enable researchers to better assess the impact this pandemic has had on their well-being, as well as their opinion on returning to sport.  In addition, this survey is intended to evaluate how people have been coping with the disruption of sports, while finding ways to help athletes and coaches maintain a physically and emotionally safe return to sport.

The survey takes approximately 12 minutes to complete and will provide valuable information to help players, parents and coaches safely return to basketball. By filling out this anonymous research survey, you have a 1 in 50 chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card.

Canada Basketball and Wheelchair Basketball partnered to develop Back to Basketball: Return to Sport Guidelines (Version 1.0), a multi-phased guide to the safe resumption of basketball in Canada.  This document is the first in a multi-versioned set of documents, intended for use by our Provincial/Territorial Sport Organizations (PTSO) members, sport partners and the broader basketball community.
