Team Edmonton Wins 3X3 Canada Quest West Finals

EDMONTON, AB (July 15, 2019) – Team Edmonton (Steve Sir, Jermaine Bucknor, Jordan Jensen-Whyte, Kyle Landry) was crowned the winners of the 2019 3x3 Canada Quest West Final after defeating Old Montreal (Vincent Dufort, Aleks Mitrovic, Greg Faulkner, Sebastian Beckett) 21-5 in the final on Sunday afternoon.

Eight teams from regional events in Western Canada, competed in the 3x3 Canada Quest West Final this past weekend at the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton.

As the top-three in the tournament, Edmonton, Old Montreal, along with Winnipeg, also earned tickets for the Saskatoon Masters on July 20-21 in the fourth stop on this season’s FIBA 3x3 World Tour.  Team Saskatoon will also be playing this weekend after receiving the Wildcard LOC berth.  

The Saskatoon Masters will see 12 participating teams compete for two days for the pride to represent their city, prize money (more than 1 million USD on the season) and points to qualify for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Utsunomiya Final 2019 in Japan on November 2-3.

The event will take place in downtown Saskatoon (4th Avenue & 21st Street).

In addition to the main event, a dunk contest and a shoot-out contest will take place in between games. Live music, cheerleaders, dance teams and other entertainment will be held throughout the weekend. An amateur 3x3 tournament is also being planned to take place on satellite courts alongside the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters.
