ULAANBAATAR, MONGOLIA — Canada’s 3x3 Women’s National Team dropped both of their games on Wednesday at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2025, falling to France and Hungary in two tightly contested matchups.
Canada opened the day with a hard-fought battle against France that saw multiple lead changes throughout. Cassandra Brown paced the team with 6 points, but an injury to forward Saicha Grant-Allen midway through the game disrupted Canada’s rhythm and slowed their momentum down the stretch, resulting in a 14-13 loss.
In their second outing, Canada struggled to find its footing in a 16-14 loss to Hungary. Despite the result, Grant-Allen contributed 5 points and 8 rebounds in a gritty performance just hours after her earlier knock.
With the two losses, Canada finishes third in Pool C and will now look to regroup ahead of Friday’s play-in game, where they’ll face the second-place finisher from Pool B for a spot in the quarterfinals.
