TORONTO, Ont. (Feb 28, 2024) - Aaron Best and Aaliyah Edwards have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for Feb. 26-Mar 1.

The Canadian Senior Men’s National Team (SMNT) went 2-0 in the opening window of FIBA Men's AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers. Former CEBL Champion Aaron Best led the team, averaging 18.5 points per game and 52.8 percent from the three-point line. Canada’s 10-man roster did the job against Nicaragua with two dominant wins.

After securing a win against the DePaul Blue Demons, UConn took the Big East Regular Season Champs title, going undefeated in their conference. Canadian Aaliyah Edwards had a massive stat line in that game, putting up 23 points, a season-high 17 rebounds and four steals in UConn’s 104-67 win. Edwards looks to lead the team to a successful record as tournament play is around the corner, and March Madness is set to begin.
