Bridget Carleton signs with Minnesota Lynx for 2021 WNBA season

TORONTO, Ont. (January 9, 2020) -- The Minnesota Lynx announced Saturday that Bridget Carleton has signed her qualifying offer for the 2021 WNBA season.

Last season, the Chatham, Ontario native, played in 22 games (including 15 starts) and averaged a career-best 6.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 25.8 minutes per contest while shooting 52.0% from the floor and 45.7%, from beyond the arc and 64.3% from the line.

Carleton was originally selected in the second round (21st overall) by the Connecticut Sun in the 2019 WNBA Draft.

The 6’1” guard has spent eight years as a member of Team Canada and most recently was a member of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament team that went 3-0 and secured Canada’s third consecutive Olympic appearance.  Carleton averaged 5.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1 assist during the tournament in Belgium.
