ULAANBAATAR, MONGOLIA — Canada’s 3x3 Women’s National Team is headed to the quarter-finals at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2025 after defeating Japan 18-6 in a dominant play-in performance on Friday.
After dropping their final two games of group stage play on Wednesday, the team responded with urgency and composure. Cassandra Brown led all scorers with 8 points, while Paige Crozon tallied a staggering 12 rebounds in a complete team effort.
“We went in with a really focused and confident mindset,” said Crozon. “As a team, we’ve grown so much over the past few days in the Women’s Series and round robin games. We trusted the work we’ve put in together and believed in each other.”
Canada now moves on to face Spain in the quarter-finals, scheduled for Saturday, June 28th at 5:25 AM ET / 2:25 AM PT, live on CBC Sports and YouTube.
“This is a really special opportunity to keep competing and growing together,” Crozon added. “We’re continuing the culture of excellence that’s been built in Canadian women’s 3x3 over the past six years — and we’re just getting started.”
