Canada advances to the FIBA U16 Women's Americas Championship 2021 Finals with a 74-47 win over Argentina

GUANAJUATO, MEXICO (August 28, 2021) - Canada is heading to the FIBA U16 Women's Americas Championship 2021 finals Sunday after an incredible 74-47 win over Argentina in the semifinals.

Delaney Gibb and Cassandre Prosper continued to make their statements here at the FIBA U16 Women's Americas Championship 2021, each putting forth double-double performances. Gibb collected 14 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists, while Prosper contributed 13 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists in the win.

"We started off with a lot of defensive pressure and got a lot of steals and transition lay-ups and moving the ball really well," said Marina Radocaj, who contributed 14 points in tonights win.

Canada will battle it out for the gold medal in tomorrow's finals against the USA at 9:30 PM ET.

"We're still finding ways to get the job done and I think that's the importance piece - we are on our way to the gold medal game," said head coach Cheryl Jean-Paul. "Hoping we head into tomorrow's game with the confidence of knowing what we can look like and I'm thinking if we can do that then we will be okay."
