TORONTO (August 28, 2026) – Canada Basketball announced today the roster that will represent Canada at the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series stop in Takasaki, Japan, taking place August 29-30.
Canada enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed and has been drawn into Pool A alongside Netherlands U25 and Yanjing. Round-robin play begins Saturday, August 29, against Netherlands U25 at 2:15 a.m. ET, followed by Yanjing at 6:35 a.m. ET. All games will be streamed live on CBC Gem and FIBA 3x3’s YouTube channel.
Returning to the roster are Paige Crozon, Katherine Plouffe, Merissah Russell and Michelle Plouffe, who returned to 3x3 action at last weekend’s stop in Bangkok after retiring in 2025. Canada advanced to the quarter-finals in Bangkok before falling to Germany to bring its run to an end. Although Canada has fallen short of qualifying for the Women’s Series Final in Shanghai next month, Takasaki gives the Canadians one final opportunity in 2026 to finish the campaign on a high note and add another stop victory to their résumé.
Daniel Ferguson returns as head coach after guiding Canada to a Women’s Series title in Shanghai in May, as well as titles in Edmonton, Bordeaux, and Shanghai in the 2025 Women’s Series season.
