TORONTO — Canada Basketball has confirmed the men’s and women’s rosters for the 2025 FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup, which runs Nov. 27–30 in León, Mexico.
The women’s team features a blend of proven experience and rising talent.
Olympians Katherine Plouffe and Paige Crozon enter the event fresh off a championship run on the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series, where they won the season title in September. Crozon is currently ranked no. 3 in the world, while Plouffe sits at no. 8.
They will be joined by Jade Belmore, a standout U SPORTS athlete at the University of Regina, and Merissah Russell, who will make her 3x3 debut. Canada enters the tournament looking to defend their AmeriCup title, won last year with a victory over the United States in the final.
On the men’s side, Canada returns the same lineup that captured the program’s first AmeriCup medal a year ago – Jérôme Desrosiers, Steve Sir, Grant Audu and Marek Klassen will reunite as Canada aims to build on its 2024 bronze.
Desrosiers, ranked 64th in the world, competes on the pro circuit with London 3x3 and won the Deqing World Tour stop earlier this season. Sir, a veteran of the format, plays for the Skyliners and helped the team win the SBA Pro Tour stop in Eurovea, Slovakia. This will be just the third AmeriCup appearance for the Canadian men.
Both teams will be led by Daniel Ferguson, who also makes his debut at the AmeriCup in his role.
Canada opens competition with two group-stage games for each team.
The AmeriCup features four groups of three teams, with the top two in each advancing to the quarterfinals on Nov. 30. Semifinals and finals will also be played later that day.
All games will be streamed live on FIBA’s 3x3 YouTube channel.
