Canada Basketball and Wildeboer Dellelce Relaunch Small Business Assist Program

TORONTO (May 13, 2025) – Canada Basketball, in partnership with Wildeboer Dellelce LLP, is proud to relaunch the Small Business Assist Program — a national initiative designed to empower Canadian BIPOC and under-represented entrepreneurs and small business owners through the power of community, collaboration, and basketball.

Now entering its second year, the program will offer four small businesses the opportunity to collaborate with Canada Basketball on a tailored project, gain national exposure through a professionally produced 60-second video, and receive premium photography assets to elevate their brand.

In addition, each selected business will receive access to pro bono legal services provided courtesy of Wildeboer Dellelce LLP through to March 31, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a registered Canadian small business or creator,
  • Must be a member of a BIPOC or under-represented group,
  • Must have a need for corporate and/or commercial legal services,
  • Must have an established idea and/or business model,
  • Must have full-time founders, one of whom must be from a BIPOC or under-represented group,
  • Must be a Canadian citizen who owns/operates the business in Canada.

Application Requirements:

Applicants must provide the following: proof of Canadian business registration; a description of the legal services or support needed; information on the founder or CEO and their background; the business’s mission and vision; the organization’s ongoing impact on the BIPOC community; potential ways to collaborate with Canada Basketball; one case study of a past project or activation; and a 60-second video explaining why they are a good fit for the Small Business Assist Program.

Applications will be vetted by Canada Basketball, with top profiles presented to Wildeboer Dellelce for final selection.
