TORONTO (March 27, 2026) — Canada Basketball announced Friday the inaugural Selection Camp Games fuelled by Gatorade® Canada, a new showcase event closing out both its women’s and men’s age-group selection camps.

Taking place on the final day of each camp, the Selection Camp Games will feature intrasquad matchups across Canada Basketball’s U17 and U18 women’s and men’s age groups, with athletes and assistant coaches evenly split between teams.

The women’s Selection Camp Games fuelled by Gatorade are set for Sunday, March 29 at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ont., with the U17 game tipping off at 11:30 a.m. ET and the U18 game to follow at 2 p.m. ET.

The men’s Selection Camp Games will take place Monday, April 6 at Humber College in Toronto, with the U17 game scheduled for 9 a.m. ET and the U18 game at 11:30 a.m. ET.

In its inaugural year, both events are invite only for in-person attendance, with all four games streamed live and free to the public on Canada Basketball’s YouTube account.

“This is an important evolution for our selection camp environment and a meaningful addition to our high-performance pathway,” said Stephanie Withall, vice-president of business and marketing operations for Canada Basketball. “Gatorade’s investment brings greater visibility to a key moment in that process and helps enhance the overall experience. We’re proud to bring this to life with a partner that is committed to investing in the next generation of athletes.”

Held annually each spring, Canada Basketball’s selection camps bring together top athletes from across the country as part of the organization’s age-group high-performance pathway. The camps serve as the final evaluation stage ahead of summer competition, with athletes competing for the opportunity to represent Canada internationally.

Gatorade, Canada Basketball’s official hydration partner and part of PepsiCo Canada’s portfolio of brands, is helping bring the Selection Camp Games to life in the first year of a four-year commitment tied to the event, marking an enhanced integration to fuel the next generation of high-performance athletes.

Gatorade has always been about fueling athletes at every stage,” said  Reid Black, Senior Director, Sports Nutrition & Gatorade, for PepsiCo Canada. “ “Through our partnership with Canada Basketball, we’re proud to support these young athletes at a defining moment, helping them perform and compete at their best as they take the next step in their journey.”

With Gatorade’s support, the Selection Camp Games provide a dedicated final-day competition environment for all four age-group teams, giving athletes the opportunity to perform in a game setting as Canada Basketball staff complete evaluations and finalize roster decisions.
