JUÁREZ, Mexico (June 9, 2025) — Canada captured silver at the FIBA U16 Men’s AmeriCup 2025, falling 108–71 to the United States in the gold medal game on Sunday.

Canada had already secured qualification for next summer’s FIBA U17 Men’s Basketball World Cup 2026 with its quarter-final win earlier in the tournament.

Isaiah Hamilton was named to the tournament’s All-Star Five First Team after averaging 21.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, three steals and 1.2 assists per game. Hamilton missed the final after suffering an injury during the second quarter of Canada’s semifinal win over Venezuela.

Kenyon St. Louis earned All-Star Five Second Team honours. The Canadian guard averaged 10.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

Canada dominated the offensive glass in the final, pulling down 21 offensive rebounds to the United States’ 18. Canada also held a 17–13 edge in fast-break points.

This marks Canada’s fifth silver medal at the U16 AmeriCup. The Canadian men’s program has now medaled at every edition of the event since its inception in 2009.
