TORONTO (May 15, 2025) – Canada’s 3x3 Women’s National Team is back in action this weekend, kicking off the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series in Amsterdam, which gets underway Friday.
Fresh off a dominant run that saw them capture gold at the inaugural FIBA 3x3 Champions Cup earlier this year — and following their title-winning performance at the 2024 FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup — Canada enters the new season as a mainstay on the global stage.
Set to compete May 16–17 in the Netherlands, the Amsterdam Stop marks the first of six scheduled events for the Canadian women this season. All games will be streamed live on the FIBA 3x3 YouTube channel.
Following Amsterdam, the team will compete at Series stops in Ulaanbaatar, Vienna, Bordeaux, and return once again to home soil for a stop in Edmonton later in the year.
Canada’s roster for the Amsterdam opener features a mix of Olympic experience and emerging firepower: Olympians Paige Crozon (Humboldt, Sask.) and Katherine Plouffe (Edmonton, Alta.) — currently ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FIBA Individual World Rankings — are joined by Champions Cup MVP Saicha Grant-Allen (Hamilton, Ont.) and Cassandra Brown (Vernon, B.C.).
The group reunites after a historic Champions Cup victory, where Grant-Allen shone on the biggest stage, posting a tournament-best player value of 40.7 in just her fourth 3x3 appearance and earning MVP honours.
Brown, who appeared in four FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series events in 2024 and served as an alternate for Canada’s Olympic squad in Paris, rounds out a versatile and battle-tested lineup.
“It’s great to be back on the Women’s Series circuit and to begin this new quad with such a strong group,” said Steve Baur, General Manager and Vice-President, Women’s High Performance. “With Olympians Paige and Katherine returning, Cassandra bringing valuable experience back into the fold, and Saicha coming off an MVP performance at the Champions Cup, this team is well-positioned to set the tone for the season.”
Canada enters the Amsterdam Stop as the No. 2 seed and will compete in Pool B, alongside Ireland and Puerto Rico. Pool play begins Friday with matchups against Ireland at 12:20 p.m. ET / 9:20 a.m. PT, followed by Puerto Rico at 2:20 p.m. ET / 11:20 a.m. PT. Knockout round play, including quarter-finals and medal games, will tip off on Saturday.
Canada is currently ranked 7th (Women) and 13th (Combined) in the FIBA 3x3 Federation Rankings.
