Canada defeats Dominican Republic to earn bronze at the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2021

GUANAJUATO, MEXICO (August 29, 2021) - Canada secured an important 92-76 win over Dominican Republic to finish the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2021 in the bronze medal position.

Jacob Theodosiou (15 points), Ishan Sharma (14 points) and AJ Osman (13 points) led the way offensively for Canada, while Char Yeiy secured the win for Canada on the defensive end with an incredible 14 rebounds.

Mikkel Tyne finished the tournament averaging 15 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game and was named to the tournament All-Star Five.

The win over the Dominican Republic allows for a successful podium finish for Canada and a successful qualification for the FIBA U17 World Cup 2022 next summer.
