Canada to Host Puerto Rico and Jamaica at Hamilton’s TD Coliseum as part of FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers

HAMILTON, Ontario (February 23, 2026) – Canada Basketball, in partnership with TD Coliseum and Oak View Group, announced Monday that Canada’s Senior Men’s National Team (SMNT) will host back-to-back home games in Window Three of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers this July in Hamilton.

Canada will take on Puerto Rico on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 7PM EST, before facing Jamaica on Monday, July 6 at 7PM EST. Both games will take place at the newly opened TD Coliseum in Hamilton, with live coverage available on TSN.  The SMNT last played in Hamilton on July 1, 2022 when the team defeated the Dominican Republic in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers.

Tickets start at $25 and will be available for presale on February 25 at 10AM to Canada Basketball Insiders and TD Coliseum newsletter subscribers.  Public on sale begins onFebruary 27 at 10AM ET.  Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster or by visiting TDColiseum.com.

Canada’s Senior Men’s National Team opened the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers with a pair of victories over the Bahamas in November in Nassau and December in Toronto. The team currently sits undefeated with four points atop the Group C standings alongside Jamaica. Canada will complete Window Two with away games against Puerto Rico on February 26 and Jamaica on March 1.

The 16 teams competing in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers are divided into four groups of four. The top three teams from each group (12 total) will qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 in Qatar.

Canada is currently ranked fifth in the FIBA Men’s World Ranking, presented by Nike. The rankings were updated following the Men’s Basketball Tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This game underscores the ongoing partnership between Canada Basketball and OVG Canada, which serves as the organization’s exclusive partnership sales agency. Established in June 2022, the collaboration reflects both organizations’ shared commitment to growing the game of basketball across the country.
