Chris Boucher and Daneesha Provo named Toyota Players of the Week for January 11-17

Chris Boucher and Daneesha Provo have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for January 11-17. 

Chris Boucher had a massive week in the NBA as the Raptors forward averaged 22 points, nine rebounds and two blocks across three games to help Toronto build its first three-game winning streak of the season. In the Raptors 111-104 win over the Charlotte Hornets, Boucher posted a career-high 15 points. The 28-year-old is having a standout year so far, putting up an impressive campaign to start the season and some early buzz for the NBA’s 6th Man of the Year honours. Boucher entered the league in 2017 as an undrafted free agent with the Golden State Warriors before signing with the Raptors in 2018. Boucher is a two-time NBA Champion, claiming a title with both teams. He’s most recently played for Canada in 2018 during the Pacific Rim Basketball Classic, a two-game exhibition series against China in Vancouver and Victoria.

Daneesha Provo also had an impressive week, scoring an explosive 31 points against Saarlouis in Germany's top women's league, Damen Basketball Bundesliga (DBBL). The 24-year-old also added seven rebounds, five assists and five steals in the victory. Currently, Provo leads the league in scoring with 24.7 points per game in her first professional season. The Dartmouth, NS native recently graduated from the University of Utah last year, where she has spent four seasons as a key member of the Utes. Provo last represented Canada at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia and has been a member of the Canadian Women’s National Team program since 2015.
