Edey, Wallack named Toyota Canada Players of the Week

TORONTO, Ont. (January 30, 2023) - Zach Edey and Tara Wallack have been named Toyota Canada Players of the Week for January 23 - 29.

Edey continued to build upon his tremendous junior year, as he helped extend the Purdue Boilermaker’s win-streak to eight as the BIG 10 program moved to 21-1 on the season. Edey registered a career-high 38 points, to go along with 13 rebounds, in Purdue’s win over Michigan State on Sunday. Edey earned BIG 10 Player of the Week for the fifth-time this season, which is tied for second most in Purdue history. Edey suited up for the Canadian Men’s National Team this summer, helping Canada qualify for the 2023 FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup.

Wallack had a big weekend for the Washington State Cougars, pacing the program to a pair of wins over PAC 12 foes Arizona State and Arizona. The sophomore guard, who has started every game she has played in with the Cougars this season, recorded a double-double in each victory, averaging 13.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in the two games. The South Surrey, B.C. product had a busy summer with Canada Basketball, suiting up for her country in both the GLOBL JAM and Commonwealth Games where she was a part of two gold medal wins.
