Four Canadians, Two Coaches Named to 2024 Nike Hoop Summit Women’s World Team

PORTLAND, Oregon (March 20, 2024) - Four Canadian players and two Canadian coaches have been named to the 2024 Nike Hoop Summit Women’s World Team.

Toby Fournier, Delaney Gibb, Avery Howell, and Syla Swords are among the Canadians selected to Team World ahead of the second annual women’s showcase in Portland. Team World will face Team USA on April 13, 2024, at 4:30 pm PST.

Fournier, Gibb, and Swords will all make their second-straight appearance with the team led by Coach Carly Clarke once again. Clarke, an Assistant Coach with the Canadian SWNT and Head Coach of the TMU Bold WBB Team in Toronto, will be joined by Assistant Coach Shae Dheensaw, the Lead Assistant Coach of the TMU Bold WBB Team.

The trio of Fournier, Gibb, Swords, most recently captured a bronze medal at the FIBA U19 Women's World Cup where Clarke was at the helm, securing Canada's second medal at the tournament.

The Nike Hoop Summit showcases the best players from around the world who are 19 years old or younger. The annual Nike Hoop Summit is scheduled to take place April 13, 2024 at the Moda Center in Portland, OR. The women's game is scheduled for a 4:30pm PT tip and the 25th anniversary of the men's game will tip off at 7:00pm PT.
