TORONTO (Mar. 25, 2026) - Avery Howell and Elijah Mahi have been named Keg Size Players of the Week for Mar. 16-22.
Howell delivered a standout performance for Washington in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Tournament, recording 30 points and nine rebounds while shooting 56.2 per cent from the field to help the Huskies advance to the Round of 32. The Canadian guard capped off an impressive season, averaging 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while shooting 50 per cent from the field. Howells' season came to a close in the Round of 32, but she had an exceptional sophomore campaign. She most recently represented Canada at GLOBL JAM 2025 in Toronto, where she captured gold and was named tournament MVP.
Mahi put together a strong showing for Santa Clara in the first round of the NCAA Men’s Tournament, finishing with 20 points and five rebounds in a historic overtime battle against the Kentucky Wildcats. He looked extremely comfortable under the bright lights, leading the team in scoring in a heartbreaking OT loss. Despite the defeat, the 6-foot-7 Scarborough, ON native capped off a stellar season, averaging 14.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while shooting 44.7 per cent from the field. Mahi last competed for Canada at GLOBL JAM 2025 in Toronto.
