TORONTO (July 9, 2026) — Canadian center Kayla Alexander has signed a seven-day hardship contract with the Toronto Tempo, the team announced Thursday.
The 6-foot-4 center joins Toronto following two seasons with Valencia Basket Club, highlighted by Finals MVP honours during the club's 2024-25 Liga Femenina Endesa championship run.
Prior to her time in Spain, Alexander competed for Tango Bourges Basket, where she helped the club capture the FIBA Europe SuperCup Women title and earned MVP honours.
Alexander brings significant professional experience to the Tempo roster, having appeared in 203 WNBA games across eight seasons after being selected eighth overall by the San Antonio Silver Stars in the 2013 WNBA Draft.
A native of Milton, Ont., Alexander has been a cornerstone of Canada's Senior Women's National Team for more than a decade, representing Canada at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games while helping the program earn silver at the 2019 FIBA Women's AmeriCup and bronze medals in 2023 and 2025. She is also Canada's all-time leader in rebounds with 454 career boards.
In December 2024, Alexander was inducted into the Syracuse University Hall of Fame, where she remains the program's all-time leader in points (2,040) and blocks (350).
