Lee, Alexander named Toyota Canada Players of the Week

TORONTO, Ont. (July 5, 2023) - Xaivian Lee and Kayla Alexander have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for June 26-July 2.

Lee's 14.1 points per game were tops amongst Canadians at the FIBA U19 Men's Basketball World Cup 2023 and 14th most among players at the event. The Princeton Tigers guard and Toronto, Ont. product made his first appearance for the National Team at the tournament and starred in Hungary. He notched double-figure points in six of Canada's seven games at the World Cup, helping lead his country to a seventh-place finish.

Alexander came up huge in Canada's opening game at the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2023, recording 10 points and 18 rebounds in the team's win over the host Mexico — with 10 of the boards coming on the offensive end. The Milton, Ont. product last suited up for Canada this past summer, helping the National Women’s Team to a fourth-place finish this past fall at the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
