Lindell Wigginton and Nirra Fields Named Toyota Players of the Week for July 19-25.

Lindell Wigginton and Nirra Fields have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for July 19-25.

Wigginton put up 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in two wins over this past week shooting 53% from the field with the Hamilton Honey Badgers (CEBL). The 6'2" Halifax, NS native attended Iowa State University (NCAA). Wigginton has played for Team Canada numerous times, most notably at the FIBA U19 World Cup where he helped lead Canada to their first ever gold medal at the tournament. The shooting guard played in Israel for the Ironi Hai Motors Ness Ziona and signed with the Hamilton Honey Badgers earlier this summer. 

Fields scored 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists against Serbia in the first game at the Olympics this past week. The Montreal, QC native also grabbed 4steals and was selected as the Toyota Drive of the Game. Fields attended UCLA (NCAA) for college and played one season with the Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) before playing in Europe. The 5”7’ guard currently plays for Antalya 07 (Turkey) and has played for Team Canada for over 100 games, most recently at the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2021 and now at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with the Senior Women’s National Team.
