TORONTO, Ont. (January 16, 2023) - Emanuel Miller and Nirra Fields have been named Toyota Canada Players of the Week for January 8 - 15.

Miller, who is in his first season with the TCU Horned Frogs (NCAA), recorded back-to-back 20-point performances. Miller put up 21 points in the team’s narrow 79-75 loss to Texas, before registering 23 points and eight boards a 82-68 win over No. 11 Kansas State. Miller last represented Canada at GLOBL JAM this past summer in Toronto, where he averaged 16.0 points-per-game.

Fields, who is playing in the KBSL in Turkey, stuffed the stat sheet in Emlak’s win over Ormanspor. She registered 11 points, to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and five steals in the 74-56 victory on Saturday, helping Emlak move to 10-5 this season. Fields suited up for Canada this fall at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, where the Women’s National Team finished fourth in Australia, where she averaged 10.3 points-per-game.
