TORONTO (May 5, 2025) - Jamal Murray and Kayla Alexander have been named the Players of the Week for Apr. 28 - May 4.
Jamal Murray is no stranger to big-time playoff performances. The Kitchener, Ont. native averaged 27 points, six rebounds and six assists in just three games over the past week, helping to lead the Denver Nuggets into the Western Conference Semifinals in seven games. His week was highlighted by an emphatic 43-point game in a game five win over the LA Clippers. Murray last represented Canada at the Paris 2024 Olympics, helping the Senior Men’s National Team to a fifth-place finish.
Alexander earns Player of the Week honours for the second time this year after putting up a strong double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds to help send Valencia (Liga Femenina) to the LF Endesa Finals for the fifth consecutive year. Through her first season with Valencia, the Milton, Ont. native is currently averaging 12 points and six rebounds on the season. Alexander last suited up for Canada with the Senior Women’s National Team at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
