National Team veteran Jevohn Shepherd joins University of Toronto Varsity Blues

TORONTO, Ont. (September 21, 2021) -- The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball program is pleased to announce the addition of former Canadian national team member Jevohn Shepherd as the team's the new assistant coach and coordinator of player development and player advancement, effective immediately.

"We are tremendously excited to have Jevohn join our staff," said Varsity Blues head coach John Campbell. "His experience as a student-athlete, professional athlete and now as an executive in the CEBL will make him a valuable resource to our student-athletes as they work to maximize their potential on and off the court."

Shepherd is the current general manager of the Ottawa Blackjacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), where he has been responsible for player development and organizational advancement.

He has also spent time as a basketball commentator for CBC and analyst for Sportsnet 590 The Fan and the Raptors 905.

Shepherd played in the NCAA for the University of Michigan Wolverines for four years. As a senior captain, he led the Wolverines to a NCAA tournament appearance in 2009, their first berth in over a decade.

After his college career, Shepherd played professionally overseas in Europe from 2014-20. He also represented Canada from 2005-18, having donned the Red and White in over 40 games, including appearances at the FIBA Americas championship, FIBA World Cup, and World FISU Games.
