Noah Kirkwood and Cassandra Brown Named Toyota Canada Players of the Week for January 18-23.

Noah Kirkwood and Cassandra Brown have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for the week from January 18-23.

Big week for Kirkwood who is averaging 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists over the last two games for Harvard. The 6’5” guard from Kanata, ON is having a phenomenal senior season, leading Harvard in scoring and assists and is second in rebounds. Kirkwood played for Ashbury College before joining Harvard University (NCAA) where he was named Ivy League Rookie of the Year in his Freshman season and named to the All-Ivy First Team in his Sophomore year. Kirkwood has previously been a major contributor with Team Canada, securing a silver medal for Canada at the 2017 FIBA U16 Americas Championship and a gold medal at the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2017. 

In Brown’s return to the court, she delivered in a big way with 42 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals leading Grengewald (Luxembourg) to a victory over Esch. The 6’2” guard continued her dominant play leading the team to a second win in the week, defeating Les Sangliers, adding 31 points and 12 rebounds. On the week Brown averaged 36.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game while shooting an outstanding 54% from the 3-point line, 73% from the field, and 100% from the line. From Vernon, BC, Brown attended the University of Portland (NCAA) before heading to Europe to play professionally in Poland, Slovaki, Sweden and Greece. Brown helped Canada earn bronze at the 2010 FIBA Americas U18 Championship and assisted Canada to qualify for the FIBA U18 Championships in 2011 and represented Canada in 2019 during the Belgium Tournament, the Great Britain Exhibition and at the Pan American Games.
