Ontario Basketball and Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball to host Canada Basketball 15U & 17U Men’s and Women’s National Championships this summer

TORONTO (May 15, 2024) – In collaboration with Canada Basketball, Ontario Basketball and Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball will host the Canada Basketball 15U & 17U Men’s and Women’s National Championships this summer.

From August 5th to 10th, 2024, York University in Toronto and Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s will welcome provincial and territorial teams from across the country as they compete for the right to be crowned national champions.

Several Senior Men’s and Women’s National Team players have previously participated in the Canada Basketball 15U & 17U National Championships, including Bridget Carleton, RJ Barrett, Kia Nurse, Andrew Nembhard, Laeticia Amihere, Benedict Mathurin, Aaliyah Edwards and Cory Joseph.

Last year, Ontario captured double gold on the men’s side with victories over Quebec and Alberta in the finals, while British Columbia’s 15U team and Quebec’s 17U team claimed gold at the women’s national championships.

Event schedules and ticket information for the Canada Basketball 15U & 17U Men’s and Women’s National Championships will be announced in the coming weeks.

While all games from the Canada Basketball 15U & 17U National Championships will be live-streamed via Canada Basketball’s YouTube, basketball fans from across the host provinces of Ontario, Newfoundland, and Labrador are encouraged to attend and support teams in person for an incredible first-class basketball experience.

The Canada Basketball 15U & 17U National Championships are the premier national amateur sports events for the Canadian basketball community. Each summer, Canada’s top next generation of high-performance athletes in the 15U and 17U age groups compete for the national championship title while proudly representing their home province/territory.
