The 2026 U15 and U17 Women’s National Championships concluded Saturday with four medal games at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Que.

NOTEWORTHY

• Host Quebec came out firing in the U15 bronze-medal game, building a 14-point halftime lead over British Columbia before securing an 84-60 victory. Quebec never trailed on its way to winning bronze in front of the home crowd.
• Nova Scotia overcame an early deficit to defeat British Columbia 101-73 in the U17 bronze-medal game. Nova Scotia pulled away after halftime, scoring more than 20 points in both the third and fourth quarters. Ayla Williams led the way with 33 points, 10 assists and six steals.
• It was an all-Ontario celebration in the gold-medal games as the province defeated Alberta in both divisions. Ontario captured its third consecutive U15 title with a dominant 91-50 victory, while its U17 team avenged its loss to Alberta in the 2025 Canada Summer Games final with a 74-48 win. Ontario led both championship games from start to finish to complete the sweep.
