Ontario’s dominant day, Alberta’s double semifinal push headline Day 4 of U15 & U17 Women’s National Championships

THE RUNDOWN

Quarter-finals action wrapped up on day four of the 2026 U15 and U17 National Championships as eight teams secured a semifinals berth, and consolation action continued at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec on Thursday.

NOTEWORTHY

  • New Brunswick escaped with a 62-61 victory over Saskatchewan in U15 women's consolation play. In a game that featured multiple lead changes, Callie Evans paced New Brunswick with 23 points, while Oluchi Ezeokafor chipped in 15 as the contest came down to the wire.
  • Ontario booked a pair of semifinal berths with dominant performances in both age groups. The U15 women cruised past Nova Scotia 112-40, while the U17 women pulled away for a 97-44 win over New Brunswick. After trailing 20-14 at the end of the first quarter, Ontario responded with a commanding run to secure the victory. Both teams will face British Columbia in the semifinals.
  • Alberta also advanced both of its teams to the semifinals. The U15 women defeated Newfoundland and Labrador 89-47, while the U17 women held off Manitoba 58-50. Alberta's U15 squad will face host Quebec in the semifinals, while the U17 women will take on Nova Scotia for a spot in the championship game.
