Plouffe, Nembhard Named Players of the Week

TORONTO (July. 13, 2026) - Katherine Plouffe and Andrew Nembhard have been named Players of the Week for July. 6-12

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, 6’3 forward Katherine Plouffe continues to make her mark on the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series, travelling the globe and competing against the world’s top 3x3 talent. At the most recent stop in Marseille, Plouffe and her team went undefeated through the group stage and advanced to the final before falling short in the championship game. In the semifinal matchup, Katherine contributed 8 of her team’s 18 points, showcasing her experience and basketball IQ. Finishing second at the Marseille stop, Plouffe ranked sixth overall among 3x3 athletes, recording 21 points and 26 rebounds during the competition. Plouffe most recently represented Canada at the 2026 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series stop in Marseille, France.

Aurora, Ontario's very own Andrew Nembhard delivered standout performances for Canada during the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in Hamilton, Ont., against Puerto Rico on July 3rd and Jamaica on July 6th. Nembhard opened the window with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal against Puerto Rico before following it up with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists against Jamaica. Playing on home soil, the 6'2 guard showcased his poise, leadership, and consistency, helping lead Canada while continuing to establish himself as one of the country's top talents on the international stage. Nembhard put the basketball world on notice as the Senior Men's National Team continued its pursuit of a World Cup medal. Following the two victories, Canada remained at the top of the FIBA World Cup Americas Power Rankings after scoring at least 110 points in both games and winning each by more than 25 points. Nembhard most recently represented Canada with the Senior Men's National Team during the 2026 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in Hamilton, Ontario.
