Rowe, Pellington Named Toyota Canada Players of the Week

TORONTO, Ont. (Mar 4, 2024) - Jackson Rowe and Shaina Pellington have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for Mar. 4-8.

Last week, the Senior Men’s National Team played in their first window of the FIBA Men's AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers. They went 2-0 against Nicaragua, winning their first game at home in St Catharine’s, Ontario. In game two, played at Nicaragua, Jackson Rowe led the team with 19 points and ten rebounds in a strong 88-46 win for Canada. 

Shaina Pellington averaged 26.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game over her last three playoff games for Homenetmen in the Women’s Lebanese Basketball League as their latest addition. Pellington last suited up for Canada in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Sopron, Hungary, where the Senior Women’s National Team punched their tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics this upcoming summer.
