Another 10 games are in the books in Regina, as Day 2 action cruised along at the Canada Basketball U15 and U17 Men’s National Championships at the University of Regina.

NOTEWORTHY

• Nathan Rudnick hit four of his five game-high three-pointers in the final quarter of action to help Ontario come from behind to defeat Quebec, 61-55 in U17 action.
• Maritimes Madness at its finest. Prince Edward Island’s Levi Hickey forced overtime in a U17 clash with New Brunswick, thanks to a last second three-pointer. But New Brunswick got their revenge in overtime, outscoring Prince Edward Island by 14 points in the five-minute extra frame.
• The story of the day was delivered by Northwest Territories. Gabriel Thomson couldn’t miss, pouring in 34 points to help Northwest Territories defeat Newfoundland and Labrador 101-76 – the territories first-ever win in 17U Boys action at Canada Basketball National Championships.
• With top seeds on the line, both Nova Scotia’s squads – U15 and U17 – came through on Day 2. Nova Scotia emerged with a pair of impressive wins over Saskatchewan – an 86-79 victory in U15 Boys action and a 94-61 win in 17U Boys play – to help both squads remain undefeated heading into Wednesday.
• Play-in and quarter-final matchups are set following the conclusion of preliminary round action in Regina. In U15 women's action, Newfoundland and Labrador will clash with New Brunswick for a spot in the quarter-finals against Ontario, while Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island will meet for the opportunity to face Quebec, and Nova Scotia will take on Northwest Territories with a date with British Columbia on the line. Quebec and Manitoba is the lone set quarter-final clash.
• The U17 Men’s playoff picture is also set, as New Brunswick will meet with Northwest Territories with the winner advancing to play British Columbia in quarter-final play.  Rounding out play-in action are meetings between Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, as Alberta and Ontario await the respective victors. Quebec and Manitoba is the lone set quarter-final clash.
