TORONTO (June 19, 2025) – Canada Basketball has announced the return of the 15U men’s and women’s national championships this summer, showcasing the next generation of high-level athletes from across the country.
Hosted by the Ontario Basketball Association, the event will run from Aug. 4 to 10 at Ontario Tech University and Durham College in Oshawa, Ont., welcoming provincial and territorial teams from coast to coast as they compete for the title of national champions.
“We are thrilled to host the Canada Basketball 15U Men’s and Women’s National Championships this year,” said Claude Nembhard, chief executive officer of the Ontario Basketball Association. “We are excited to partner with Canada Basketball and Durham College/Ontario Tech to deliver an outstanding national championship in Ontario. We are committed to providing the best experience possible for all participating teams and basketball fans.”
The 17U division will not be part of this year’s event, as those athletes will be competing at the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, N.L.
Last summer, Team Ontario swept gold across all four divisions — 15U and 17U, men’s and women’s — a feat not seen since Team Quebec did the same in 2019.
All games will be live streamed on Canada Basketball’s YouTube channel, but fans across Ontario are encouraged to catch the action live — cheering on their provincial and territorial teams in what promises to be a top-tier basketball showcase.
“The 15U national championships are a celebration of the incredible work being done in every corner of the country,” said Michael Bartlett, President & CEO of Canada Basketball. “Our provincial and territorial partners continue to develop exceptional talent, and this event is a true reflection of their commitment to growing the game. Year after year, they bring their best to the floor — and together, we create a national stage that showcases the future of Canadian basketball.”
The Canada Basketball 15U national championships are among the premier amateur sport events in the country. Each summer, Canada’s top young high-performance athletes at the 15U level compete for the national title while proudly representing their home province or territory.
