Thomas Scrubb and Aislinn Konig Named Toyota Canada Players of the Week for April 18-24

Thomas Scrubb and Aislinn Konig have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for the week of April 18th to 24th.

In Castor Braine’s win over the Kangoeroes; Konig led her team with 27 points (10/17 FG, 5/9 3FG), while also adding 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a block. The 5'9"guard from Langley, BC, played for North Carolina State (NCAA) where she had a successful college career, making it to the NCAA Sweet 16 twice and winning NC State's first ACC Championship in 29 years. Konig has represented Canada for over five years, earning bronze at the FIBA U19 Women's World Cup in 2017 and most recently helped Canada qualify for the FIBA Women’s World Cup at the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers this past February.

Scrubb had a big game with Monbus Obradoiro this past week in a win over Gran Canaria in the ACB. Tommy scored 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists shooting 10-11 from the field (incl. 2-3 from 3PT) with 3 blocks in the game that featured 5 Canadians. The 6’7” small forward from Richmond, B.C. attended Carleton University (U SPORTS) where he played alongside his brother and won 5 straight CIS National Championships. After playing for the Ravens, Scrubb began playing professionally in Europe in 2015, and currently plays for Monbus Obradoiro (Liga ACB) in Spain. Scrubb last represented Canada in the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 Qualifiers and the last two windows of the FIBA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers.
