(Toulouse, France) - Canada's U17 Men's team had a successful week in France. Competing in a 3 game round robin exhibition tournament. The Men finished with a 2-1 record losing to France in game one, 86-85 in overtime, beating Australia in game two, 88-53 and with almost identical scores, beat Argentina in game three, 87-51. With this type of momentum its bound to be a great summer for the U17 Men.

"We came out with a defensive intensity tonight which ignited the offensive end. Our bench stepped up once again tonight. We look forward to the World Championships."

Starting for Canada was Danilo Djuricic, Noah Kirkwood, Grant Shephard, Andrew Nembhard, and Ignas Brazdeikis. Click here for full team roster.

Danilo Djuricic had an impressive game and scored the game high with 18 pts, shot 75% from the 3pt and secured 7 rebounds. Quincy Guerrier and Noah Kirkwood also had 6 rebounds each. Andrew Nembhand also had great vision this game setting up his teammates with 7 assists.  

During the first quarter Canada had no issues putting the ball in the hoop. They had over 7 players putting points on the board making it very difficult for Argentina to shut them down. Argentina struggled to score and relied heavily on Nicolas Franco who scored 50% of their points. The score was 22-12 at the end of the first.

Canada’s defensive efforts in the second quarter allowed them to take control of the game. They only let Argentina to score 7 points and a field goal percentage of 27%. Canada's shots were falling for them resulting in them shooting 63%. Every player on the Canadian Men’s team had at least 2 points on the board going into half time.

Argentina found their rhythm in the third and shot 57% a 30% increase from the first half. Although Argentina's shots were improving, the Canadians stayed strong and pushed the lead to 63-32 at the end of the third.

There were no surprises in the fourth quarter, which finished 87-51 for Canada. Argentina’s Nicolas Franco and Canada’s Danilo Djuricic both had strong games finishing with 18 points each. Franco shooting 46.67% and Djuricic shooting 75%.

The U17 Men finished 2-1 concluding the games in France.
