(Zaragoza, Spain) The U17 Men lost a tough battle to Turkey 80-74.

Starting for Canada were Rowan Barrett JR, Danilo Djuricic, Andrew Nembhard, Ignas Brazdeikis and Simisola Shittu. Click here for full team roster. Danilo Djuricic led the Canadians with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals, while Rowan Barrett was an offensive tyrant with 33 points.

Both teams battled for 40 minutes, each team clawing to get a single point lead throughout the first three quarters. The first quarter finished with Canada trailing by 1, 16-17.

In the second quarter Canada struggled to keep Turkey off the boards, trailing by 4 going into half time.

Canada finished ahead in the third quarter, scoring 18 points while limiting Turkey to 13 points finishing 54-53.

Turkey got a quick lead in the fourth and Canada leading to a heartbreaking loss. Canada will take-on Australia in the 5-8 classification round. Full tournament schedule here.
