TORONTO (July 10, 2026) — Canada Basketball has announced the U17 Women’s National Team roster ahead of the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026.

The FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 is set for July 11-19 in Brno, Czechia and features the top 16 teams in the world. All the action will be streaming live on FIBA’s YouTube channel.

Canada is in Group D with Italy (Saturday, July 11 at 8:45 am ET / 5:45 am PT), Egypt (Sunday, July 12 at 6:00 am ET / 3:00 am PT) and New Zealand (Tuesday, July 14 at 2:15 pm ET / 11:15 am PT).

All 16 teams participating in the event will advance to the competition's Final Phase with a single-elimination format in place from the Round of 16 onwards.

The team trained at Humber College in Toronto from June 23 to July 1, before travelling to France for a series of exhibition games ahead of the World Cup.

Canada enters the tournament following a historic runner-up finish at the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2024, the nation's best-ever result at the event. Combined with a fourth-place finish in 2022, Canada has recorded consecutive top-four finishes after nearly a decade without cracking the top five.

Jessica Roque has been named head coach, marking her first appointment as a head coach within Canada Basketball’s women’s high-performance program.

Canada is currently ranked 3rd overall in the FIBA women’s age-group rankings, presented by Nike.
