TORONTO (January 27, 2026) - TJ Hurley and Madalyn Weinert have been named The Keg Size Players of the Week for January 19-January 25, presented by The Keg.
When it comes to U SPORTS all-time players, it is hard not to mention Madalyn Weinert. The two-time U SPORTS All-Canadian, back-to-back OUA Player of the Year, and current national leader in points and rebounds per game had a stellar weekend. Weinert posted a dominant double-double with 29 points and 21 rebounds, along with four blocks, while shooting 58 percent from the field against the undefeated Queen’s Gaels. The fifth-year guard is currently averaging 23.8 points and 13.6 rebounds per game and is making a strong push to three-peat as OUA Player of the Year while also positioning herself for her first U SPORTS National Player of the Year honor. Weinert last represented Canada at GLOBL JAM in Toronto, where the squad captured gold.
TJ Hurley has been looking like a cornerstone piece for his Vermont squad this season. The 6’5” guard from Fontville, ON, has been filling up the stat sheet on the offensive end over the past week, averaging 24 points and 3 rebounds per game while leading Vermont to an impressive 2-1 record. Hurley recorded a team-high 26 points on Saturday afternoon as Vermont defeated Bryant. He followed that up with a monster performance, scoring a career-high 30 points to help Vermont take down UMass Lowell 77-68 in an America East contest. Hurley has been generating plenty of buzz lately, and his play continues to back it up. He last suited up for Canada at GLOBL JAM this past summer in Toronto.
