Wiltjer, Ejim Named Toyota Canada Players of the Week

TORONTO, Ont. (Jan. 16, 2024) - Kyle Wiltjer and Yvonne Ejim have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for Jan. 15-19. 

Kyle Wiltjer is coming off of an MVP week in the Euroleague, averaging 24 points and four rebounds over Venezia’s last two wins. His standout performance came on January 10 when he scored 32 points on 16-23 shooting. He knocked down seven threes as Venezia won 106-96 in overtime at home against Besiktas Emlakjet Istanbul. His huge game set a club record, and the 31-year-old veteran was everywhere on the court. 

The Gonzaga Bulldogs are undefeated in 2024 and 3-0 in conference play. They are led by senior Yvonna Ejim, who is averaging 22 points and seven rebounds in their last two wins. The Calgary product put up a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds in Gonzaga’s win against the San Diego Toreros. This is her second POTW honour of the season. Ejim last played with the Senior Women’s National Team when she won bronze with Canada at the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2023.
