Zach Edey and Bridget Carleton Named Toyota Players of the Week for July 5-11.

Zach Edey and Bridget Carleton have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for July 5-11th.

Zach Edey joined the U19 Men’s National Team last week where he averaged an outstanding 15 points, 14 rebounds and 2.3 blocks over seven games, helping Canada make their second-ever podium appearance at the FIBA U19 World Cup earning the bronze medal. His performance at his first international tournament repping Team Canada led him to be named to the tournament All-Star Five. The 7’4” Toronto, ON native just completed his freshman season with the Purdue Boilermakers (NCAA) where he averaged 8.7 points and 4.4 rebounds over 28 games and is considered the tallest player in Big Ten history. 

Carleton helped the Minnesota Lynx (WNBA) go 3-0 this week, scoring 25 points and adding 4 steals. The 6’1” guard played for Iowa State University (NCAA) where in her senior year, she had the best single-season in ISU history, ranking top-10 in school history in nearly every statistical category and was named the Cheryl Miller Award recipient as the best small forward in NCAA Division 1. Carleton was drafted in the 2nd round of 2019 WNBA Draft, spent time playing for Landerneau Bretagne Basket (France) before signing with the Minnesota Lynx. Having presented Canada at various National and International tournaments over the past 8 years, the Chatham, ON native will be repping the red and white on the Senior Women’s National Team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the upcoming weeks.
