TORONTO – Canada will be well represented throughout NBA All-Star 2026, as Canadian players and coaches headline the league’s global showcase.
24 international players were selected to participate in NBA All-Star 2026 events, including 10 All-Stars representing Team World in the league’s new U.S. versus World format. Canada is represented by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), who earned his fourth consecutive All-Star selection but will not play due to injury, and Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), who received his first career All-Star nod.
A record 135 international players from a record-tying 43 countries across six continents were named to opening-night rosters for the 2025-26 NBA season. Canada leads all countries outside the United States with 25 players, marking the 12th consecutive season it has been the most represented nation internationally.
Team World will be led by Darko Rajaković of the Toronto Raptors, with Raptors assistant coach Jama Mahlalela joining him on the bench. Mahlalela is also a member of Canada’s LA 2028 Olympic coaching pool.
The 75th NBA All-Star Game will take place Sunday, Feb. 15 (5 p.m. ET) at the Intuit Dome, featuring Team World against two teams of U.S. All-Stars.
All-Star Weekend tips off Friday night with Castrol Rising Stars (9 p.m. ET), the NBA’s annual showcase of top young talent. The event features four teams competing in single-elimination semifinals followed by a championship game. Three teams are comprised of NBA rookies and sophomores, while the fourth is made up of NBA G League players.
Kyshawn George (Washington Wizards) will compete for one of two sophomore teams, coached by Raptors legend Vince Carter. George most recently represented Canada at the 2025 FIBA Men’s AmeriCup, earning All-Star First Team honours after averaging 13.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals over six games.
All-Star Saturday Night features several marquee events, including the State Farm 3-Point Contest. Murray will compete against Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Norman Powell (Miami Heat), Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets) and Bobby Portis (Milwaukee Bucks). Murray is having his best season to date, averaging 25.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 7.6 assists with the Nuggets.
Scarborough, Ont., native A.J. Lawson will participate in the NBA G League Up Next Game on Sunday, Feb. 15 (2:30 p.m. ET). Lawson earns his second consecutive selection after averaging a team-high 21.7 points and 5.1 rebounds with the Raptors 905 this season.
The 10th annual Basketball Without Borders (BWB) All-Star Camp will also be held Feb. 13–15 at the UCLA Health Training Center. The camp, hosted by the NBA and FIBA, will bring together 40 of the world’s top high school-aged prospects for on and off-court development sessions led by current and former NBA and FIBA players, legends and coaches.
Canadians Stefan Ilic, Paul Osaruyi and Lyris Robinson are set to participate in this year’s camp. Previous Canadian participants include Gilgeous-Alexander, Murray, RJ Barrett, Lu Dort and Andrew Nembhard, among others.
